I am new to this forum and really appreciate the insights shared here.

My question is: From a phyical perspective, how much difference does a half inch really make? Averages from most studies fall in ranges. For example, one study reports length ranges from 5.1 to 5.9 and girth from 4.5 to 5.5. So with either range spanning only about one inch how physically meaningful is the difference, for instance between say 5.4 x 4.7 and 5.9 x 5.2 or 4.7 x 4.4 and 5.2 x 4.9? In each case I upped each dimension by 1/2 inch.

I realize the psychological difference may be more important than the physical difference. But I would like to know your thoughts.

I just don't pay much attention to dimensions. A penis is a penis, all shapes and sizes, and when stimulated, they all feel good, right?

I don't think half an inch would make such a difference when you're taking the average as a starting point.

Now, I can say in my case, being most often around 2"-2"1/4 erect, that half an inch would be more than appreciated, because well, it's almost a quarter of my length ! I know that when I am extremely aroused or when I pump (thus reaching about 2"3/4), it makes things like penetration easier. But if you've already got 5", I'm not sure what half an inch would change.

I do agree that the psychological aspect might have a much larger impact than the physical. Give me half an inch more in both length and girth, and I would feel much better about myself.

I don't think I would feel terribly much difference with a half inch in length, but I'm pretty sure a half inch in girth would be noticeable to me.

If your penis works, use it!

I agree with what you are saying, when you look at a ruler and just see how insignificant it is. I've never known a partner to whip out a ruler and measure me and make judgements based on my size!

While it's useful to know "am I normal" or "am I average" I see no point in beating yourself up or getting depressed if you are say 0.5" below average for whatever survey you happen to be reading.

I'm between 5.5 and 6 (on a very good day) so I split the difference and say 5.75, that's the usable length (not bone pressed), but to be honest my size is not that important to me.
