Back in 2005 was when I first discovered measurection and the podcasts. I was 16, and being black and barely 6" at the time, I suffered insecurity over my size.

So, like I said, I found measurection. At the time it seemed like a place for other guys facing insecurity about their size. I found I wasn't alone. It didn't seem to matter what size you were. It was a site to discuss size and the issues we as men face.

Now at 21, and a generous 8", I came here to share my story. I too, suffered insecurity. I'm sure being black and hearing the stereotypes my whole life didn't help, but the fact is, growing up and until recently, I was still insecure.

So, like I said, I joined this site to share my story. I noticed there is this section, and the under 4.5" section. Since I am
not under 4.5" and have an average sized flaccid dick and slightly above average erect, I chose this section.

Instead of welcoming me, thanking me for sharing my life story, or even following the golden rule, I was greeted with responses that were cold, cruel, and did not make me feel welcome at all.

Do I not have the right to my emotions just because I have 2" above average when erect?

let's say one of you has a 5" penis and you came here to share your story about your insecurities. you wouldn't feel welcome at all if the rest all happened to be smaller and told you that you don't belong and your feelings are insignificant. that you have a penis they can only imagine, and that you have nothing to worry about.

You would know they're wrong.

Anyway, after not being taken seriously, I said things that may have been hurtful to some. I meant to say just because I don't have a "small penis" doesnt mean I didn't suffer insecurity over growing up and belieivng so. instead of saying "small penis", I used a not so nice term, and for that I want to apologize to anyone who took offense.

At 16 you were probably banned and even though at that time you were not small, you felt you were based on myths, stereotypes, porn. That being an awkward time for a lot of males it is understandable how you would develop feelings of inadequacy.

So between the growth, poor choice of words, and some confusion on size/age it appeared you didn't have much to say except to sound like you were whining with 8.5" and that would get a negative reaction here.

Thank you for clearing this up and now it all makes sense. Next step is to throw out the idea that black men are typically way over average. Your experience so far may not support this but it isn't true overall.

I am sure someone here has a compiled list of average sizes by race/nationality.....that will dispute your conceptions of what is average.

I wasn't a member at 16, I just discovered the podcasts. I had forgotton about the site until recently.
I'm also not 8.5", just 8.2".

it's evident to me that black men are rare here.

I guess you can't understand the pressures and insecurities unless you're black.

For instance Asians have the "small penis" myth, but since according to Rick, stereotypes hold no truth, so if they are over 4.5" they have the "luxury" of proving the myth wrong.

There is no "luxury" proving the myth wrong when alot of people whether ignorant on the subject or not have grown up hearing, thanks to the media, that black guys are huge.

Again, Im not continuing the myth, as some of you seem to think. I was giving my testimony, as a black man with a penis, on my experience with a stereotype.

I will say it one last time, Im happy with my size and I know it's fine, but growing up I didn't.

I really don't understand some of your perceptions on the inch, and perception of the word average.

one way or another it's accepted that a 4" erect penis is small. it's also accepted that 4-6" is average.

So while you are not a minority in having a small dick, you still have a small dick.

So it seems to be accepted that 6+ is above average/large.

Where's the medium sized?

I think the term "average" to describe your penis size isn't the right word.

If you have a 2" dick, but you're rich, you'll still get the girl.

women care more about having their lifestyle supported financally than about your dick. they can buy a dildo or cheat on you if they wAnt a big dick.

but they'll stay with you at least until they have your kids so they have 18 years of your money.

I can understand perhaps a small increase in size, but two entire freaking inches???

But as to the above objection by onehunglo, I think it should be pointed out that the statistics on growth periods are averages.

Some reach full growth earlier: My cock pretty much reached full size by the time I entered high school. Which ain't saying much!

Some later: A guy I knew in high school didn't even start puberty until the middle of his junior year. On another site a lot of guys have posted increases through their early twenties. I had a friend who put on an inch in his mid-to-late twenties. Reached six inches. Boy, was he happy!

I think it's well with the realm of possibility that lickmydicky (prefer not, thank you! ) could have experienced this amount of growth at sixteen. Unusual, but not impossible. (Cue music: "To dream the impossible dream. . . ")

I must say that there are no hard rules on penis growth (pun) or how fast. I also have to back Licky on the absurd amount of racial stupidity about Black size. In most social situations you're either bragging, lying or a let-down. There's no winning. Don't try to please others. Say what you need to say and hope somebody might be enlightened by that.

Speaking of enlightenment, Licky's story is a testiment (obscure pun) that 14 can be too soon to wory about being small.

I'm black. I'm an inch under the myth of 7 inches hard. My normal hang is between 2 to 3 inches. It's a cold March day at the library as I type, so right now I'm turtled in my longjohns.
