A standard condom has a diameter of 2ins (5.2cm) in comparison with the Hotshot's diameter of 1.7ins (4.5cm). Both are the same length – 7.4ins (19cm).
The author of the linked article has made a mistake. The standard and the Hotshot condoms have 2" (7.4 cm) and 1.7" (4.5 cm)
widths respectively, not
diameters.
What is a condom's width? Fully unroll a condom, lay it on a flat surface, smooth it out and then measure the flattened out width. That is the condom's width. It's also the condom's semi-circumference. In other words, a condom's width is also half the distance around the condom.
So you should use a condom with a width that's less than half your girth in order for it to stay in place and not slip off.
Since
C=πd, if a standard condom really did have a
diameter of 2 inches, it would slip right off a penis with a 6-1/4 inch girth. It couldn't be used by 99% of adult males.
