OK, the Irish curse thing? Only recently have people been dumb enough to not get self deprecation that's obviously a joke. From that others learn it wrong. Most people today have learned it wrong. Being a guy that can get whiskey dick, and being a grower, I got that connection.

 

On the "blacks are big" idea, I've said before that there's a combo effect.

You might be interested to know that I have observed the following. Heterosexual guys don't see a lot of erections beside their own. Women don't see a lot of flaccid dicks. I have heard this stereotype before, but just thought it came from "irish curse" which is drink related performance issues, i think. It would seem that has been skewed now.

I have never heard that about the Irish. I have heard jokes about their drinking. Is it based upon reality? I don't it. But a cursory review of history books show that a lot of Irish came to USA during and after the potato famine and were ostracized having to eventually settle for lower middle class jobs at best and then got into police work and fire fighting (high stress jobs). My guess is they drank to ease their struggle, maybe, and then drank more than average given they were jobs were in higher stress situations than normal. Or, it is based upon something all together different and barely based upon fact at all.

This had a lot to do with the Irish being Catholic and America then being Protestant dominated.

Kind of discouraging. Family legend has it that I have some Native American blood in me from way back in the family tree. I've always felt that explained my shortcomings.
