Official accused of buying penis enhancement pills with public money

SANTA FE, N.M. - An elected official is accused of using public money to buy penis enhancement pills, and that's not where the fraud investigation ends.

 

After months of investigating, State Auditor Hector Balderas said former Tierra Amarilla Land Grant Board President Dennis Wells stole money that was supposed to go towards the land, and spent nearly all of it for his own personal use.

 

"Bottom line, this is one of the most obscene and disrespectful cases," said Balderas.

 

Balderas said Wells sold mineral rights from part of the land grant to a Colorado company called Wind River Energy Corporation in 2011 for $233,000. Officials said that deal was shady to begin with because Wells didn't follow any proper procedure.

 

But then it gets worse.

 

Balderas said over the course of about two years, Wells used that public money for purchasing things like a car and carpet and made questionable transactions at places like casinos, gas stations, hotels and stores.

 

Wells bought penis enhancement pills from Canada with taxpayers' money, according to the investigation.

 

Balderas is now asking for an FBI criminal investigation. He is also asking ...
