Our master suite has a glass shower.   :-(

He he!  Mine too!

Yeah, in an ideal marriage this wouldn't happen.  Happened in both of mine, though.

Not just a one way street, though.  Wives hide their masturbation too, to say nothing of porn viewing.

I sometimes like to do it in this small shed in the back corner of our lot. It’s mostly covered from most views by some large bushes and overgrowth but there is one angle that would give anyone standing in one particular place in our backyard a view inside it  when the door is open. I sometimes go in the shed, leave the door open, take off all my clothes and masturbate. The chances of me being seen by someone before I see them are minimal at best but just the idea of it excites me. I have a small mirror in the shed. I love looking at myself masturbate. Doing it there reminds me of when I was a young boy doing naughty things for my friend in rather risky locations.

My word's sir, do you not have a "man cave"?! A Part of the house or a shed/out building to call your own? I have two, one of my hobbies is the production of house music, so my dining room is turned over to my dedicated audio pc and my audio equipment and this is private enough as my family know not to disturb me whilst I'm "producing" so I can, at the right time of the day do it in there.

My second hobby is mountain biking, so my outhouse which is connected to my home is a workshop for servicing my own or other people's bikes. It's been done out to a comfortable standard but it lacks heating. So in the summer at least, I can do it in there. It has a window but that's frosted glass and there's two doors between me and the rest of the house and the first door, just the same as the front door is connected to an audible electronic chime system, so you immediately know if someone is about to enter the workshop.

Failing these two there's the bathroom, or an early night meaning I'm in bed before my partner is. But then she knows that I, like all men, do masturbate and if she thinks that's what I'm doing she leaves me be, as I do her!

I'm still amazed at why something so common is so sensitive to talk about. Nearly everybody does it. Consider talking about it with your partner. I am pretty sure she does it too. Probably in the shower or bath.. My wife knew I did it. We both made sure we had plenty of alone time for the both of us. Not just for wanking either.

A good marriage works if both parties can live their own life at the same time as their shared life.

I work from home and up until last fall, my wife stayed at home.  I would either jack off in the upstairs bathroom if she was there or wait till she went to grocery store and jack off in bed.  Inwould aometimes call her to find out where she was and make sure i had enough time, especially if i was going to be looking at online porn or even call phone sex.

At times in my career when i was driving to clients offices, i would even stop at a gas station, buy a condom and jack off while driving.  I havent done that in years, and not recommending that for various reasons.

Those are a couple of things i did.  Now she works a fixed schedule outside the home so plenty of opportunities for me.

You may have a marriage in the upper 90%.  I'm envious.

@overthehill Upper 90%?  Is there a marriage index I am unaware of.  Please explain.

I was being sarcastic.

It is just my impression that most married men, and probably married women too, don't feel free to share their need to masturbate with their spouses.

I'd be glad to learn different.

I am most likely in the minority here, but I see no sense in keeping something that is important to ones self from a significant other.  Is it because upsetting ones partner is the reason or is it shame?  If it is the former then an open discussion about it may help, however, if it is the latter then perhaps talking to someone could help alleviate that shame.  Masturbation should never be something to be ashamed of.

Masturbation becomes a problem when it has an effect on ones life, if thinking about it a lot during the day then I would say it could be a problem.  I think even if doing it two or three times a week then it shouldn't be too difficult to find time.  If it is doing it daily out of habit I think maybe a habit has formed and the worry of not finding the time to do it is detrimental to ones life and relationship with a significant other.  It is especially worrying when someone may spend more time concerning themselves with masturbation than sexual relations.

I think a lot of people come to this site under a cloud of shame and it could be that masturbation is a time when one is most comfortable with ones own penis.

I am not insinuating anything here, just putting an opinion over.  I do sound quite boring sometimes.

@argoll Well my partner knows I masturbate and I don't HAVE to hide it from her, but I sometimes find I still do. It was my missus who bought me my first masturbation aid, she bought that about 10 years ago and it was similar to the "Fleshlights" you see today. We would both often use masturbation as part of foreplay. When she presented this to me I wasn't embarrassed or anything, in fact we couldn't wait for me to try it!

We still use masturbation in foreplay, but sometimes I just want some "me" time. Add to that she's aware of my sexuality, so she knows it's not necessarily women that I'm thinking about or looking at whilst masturbating. This is why she leaves me to it, she generally knows when that is too.

When I'm with someone, I don't jack off that much. My wife and I get it on most nights, so no need. Occasionally, our sex will include masturbation, so don't miss out on the special sensations of masturbation. We both travel a lot for business, so then I get some good quality time with my little guy. My wife packs the 7.5" dildo when she's out of town.

Sex with the girl I lived with previously (for 2 years) was almost strictly oral (69) or mutual masturbation. In some ways, that was some of the best "long-term" relational sex I ever had. Not under the pressure I sometimes feel when fucking.

I have two techniques of jacking off: (1) with lotion and full strokes; (2) one-or-two fingers and my thumb. The first gives a more sensuous experience; the second, gets more intense, finishing up with quick, rapid strokes.

Relationship never recovered after seeing her response to  a 9.5" penis shaped dildo.  I was too mentally sensitive and delicate, I guess.
