It's often used to detect inconsistencies, narrow the field and/or lying....LOL. I use forced choice assessments in my work regularly and also rating on a scale (1-5). What about the option to be with the opposite of what you preferred? I'm sure it would be just as nice to be with an individual that is of the opposite of your preference...
