There is a place for posting nude and other photos and videos in the Galleries.  The rules should be respected.

Unfortunately, regardless of rules, you need moderators to enforce them and to keep things on the straight and narrow to protect the integrity and concept of the site. It appears at the moment the site is rudderless and this ultimately can only lead to it's demise.

As I think I coined this phrase (in this context, not the genesis/etiology of the phrase itself, obviously),  and also was one of the first to comment on the mod problem, thought I might say a few words, although doubtless many will disagree with them.

Yes, people are breaking some rules, mainly the one about dick pictures. I'm not advocating this, and wouldn't myself.

On the other hand though, I'm not convinced that the "feds" are going to shut us down due to a few dick pics. After all, the 3 quarters of Reddit for example, would be closed, and about half the Internet as a whole, otherwise. Law enforcement actually have other priorities than policiing an obscure Web site.

As regards sph:there simply is no practical way of enforcing a ban on this, let alone on shaming/self shaming, self deprecating comments or topics in a broad sense. A large proportion of posts are based around these things, and always have been. There are countless thread, let alone comments, based on cuckolding, embarrassing remarks made by women, men in locker rooms, etc etc.

I was here when Rod and the others were fully active. These were only ever policed or shut down when this stuff became really persistent, or blatant( or blatantly offended someone)

Otherwise, half the members would have to be banned!.

I quite agree this wasn't what the founders envisaged, and in some ways it's sad. already been exploring this elsewhere. But things move on, they evolve.

Maybe the role of the site/what is acceptable/allowed is changing, and we can't control that.

The truth is the founders, administrators and moderators aren't here. Of course some may have had to be absent through death or illness...but all of them?!. And without organising any successors, or even being contactable?.

Ultimately that was their choice.

I don't want to say rules are made to be broken, but being a bit of an anarchist, I'm sceptical of rules enforced by authority of whatever stripe. Ultimately we have to take responsibility for ourselves as individuals.

Society/life-and the supposedly libertarian web-is full of countless rules, laws,conventions, protocols, procedures and types of power structures/uthorities, but still crime, injustice, hated, inequality, unhappiness,abuse etc exist and thrive, often perpetrated by the very rule makers themselves, e.g Ioeph Stalin, who said that freedom was a myth. Trying to always control  the direction, or flow of things becomes oppressive.

The nanny site is just a miniature nanny state.

And so, returning to our site: of course I hope the founders and admin that have vanished are well, and that we hear from them again but all things considered, I Don't think the site is doing too badly without authority figures policing it, or that it's absence is such a disaster. The mice playing can even be something positive.

Not necessarily absence is a disaster, but sites need maintenance of some sort usually and some monitoring.

Yeah comments received are frequently mentioned....what the mods don't want is the "celebration" of SPH

And yes rules will always be broken and then some sort of consequence?
Can you ever stop it completely, no but you do the best you can.

The responsibility or lack thereof has been demonstrated.  Nude pics in the general forum and members give positive responses instead of saying NOT ALLOWED.  Your anarchy is raising it's head  LOL

Probably not but it is a possibility, seems politicians at least talk a lot about "policing" the internet.
(and the founder has had run ins with "authority" years ago for having sexual toys in his vehicle...way back when we were both working in the adult industry.  Don't know if it was a federal offense or just a state of Texas offense, had a pro-bono lawyer defending him (this guy travelled the states fighting "obscenity" laws.)  Don't know if the founder was ever convicted.
BUT could he be on a "watch" list  hahahahaha

It's not necessary that they should, but it's human nature. People are contrary...

At the beginning of The Once And Future Queen, my character acknowledges that something has gone wrong: then the idea is that characters from the Seeock (Measurections), history explain what's happened:the shame, why the women left etc, and the founders are forgotten, as part of an epic adventure.

But then at the end (which I've written) after everything, all the knights (members) have just got drunk and fallen asleep, and only you and Alan toast their memory, The story ends with him still in charge, but nothing changes*..

Who is going to change it actually, big brother?. Then we become just like the people who stopped Shaun...that never works.You've said as much yourself. People are contrary,  (they "touch the wet paint").

What I'm saying is the change has to come from within

*Although the "and future" thing indicates hope.
