Notification of PMs That Can't Be Found, etc

1) I've noticed that I frequently get notification at the bottom of the screen in a pop up saying you have a new pm'

But then there nothing in my inbox...

I mentioned this in another thread. If the pm limit is 50, does that mean 50 seperate messages, or message  threads from 50 different members?.

Also some pms are getting  through?🤔

2) Oh, and I've noticed that some other things are listed in the public feed, apart from posts, threads and reactions... there seems to be things posted on profiles, which can be replied to, also exchanges listed like this:

Tom>Dick

Like public "private' messages though they can't be accessed?!. How does this work here?. Can you toggle PM exchanges to be part visible in the feed?!

Yes, the "50 message max" usually refers to individual personal conversations (PMs). In InvisionCommunity, messages are grouped into conversation threads. If a single PM thread reaches 50 replies, it is capped, requiring you to start a new thread.

Not exactly clear, almost sounds like 50 different PMs  and 50 replies to any one PM
Not 50 different members but 50 PMs.  One person could have 50 different PMs started with you.

The status update sidebar will show "Status updates", basically its a quick spot to say "something short and sweet",

Now I am confused.   ...  I have some PMs with over 300 conversing remarks.. some over 200.. some over 100... I do understand the 50 individual PM threads.

The limits can be set for the "replies" in a conversation, 50 is a number invisoncommunities used.
Apparently it can be set to various maximums

If you are referring to the Status Updates sidebar,
You can post directly there, a mini "twitter" just to say something.
It also pulls "updates", so if I use @bigforsmall in  a reply
It might show canuck45 > bigforsmall.

Ok, thanks have found the status updates sidebar...where the + is.

Still a bit confused about "pulling"  updates, if I say @canuck45 then that appears?.There's one about appreciator I think, and another member, re posting a profile pic...a conversation thing drops down, but no link  back to a post or comment in the forum....

No that ref doesn't appear in the feed. It can't be just naming a user...
