A few weeks back, I returned to Measurection after a long hiatus ... 18 years or so.   My posting history should be some indicator!

I returned to see if the community here was still delivering on its mission.   I'm happy to see it is, and I wanted to offer my experience with the site then, now, and what the road of life has shown me in-between.

Back when I was in uni (2005-2008), Measurection was helpful for me.   I'm a small guy at ~4.5" and thin on the girth side of things, and it was very intimidating to me to know I would be on the lower end when 'sized-up' against peoples' previous partners in their minds.   While I never felt being small made me a worse or better person than anyone else, it did make me feel at a disadvantage.   The norm that permeates society expectation-wise is bigger = better, and I didn't meet that expectation.   The interactions with the folks here showed me you can have a fulfilling life sexually even while being small, the forums and chat room being good confidence-builders for me.

As I added to my sexual experiences as a gay man, there was a trend I noticed though:  I never received a real in-person compliment on my cock.   Even today at 38, I can't think of a substantial positive comment I've had about it.   It has, however, been something that has received negative comments and outright dismissal from some partners (though I do a fairly good job of self-selecting most people out of that mix to not have to deal with that).   There are some people who like them that way - and I've encountered some who do on this site - but similar to the general trend nowadays of people liking tall as opposed to short and smooth skin as opposed to acne scars, there seems to be an overwhelming preference for one category.   It is not a good feeling to know you have a very uphill battle about something you cannot change.   Back in the day on this site, there was a bit too much glossing-over that struggle with a broad brush of positivity though.   Despite calling it out and being fairly pessimistic at the time, my experience has shown - at least in the situations I've encountered - my skepticism was more correct than not.   People can make things work despite these headwinds though;  for ~11.5 years, I've been with the same guy, and married for ~6.5 of them.

I see less of that hand-waiving today and a more balanced approach, and I think it's due in part to more guys being comfortable at least identifying more readily - and publicly - being below-average in size.   Half the population must be below median;  that's how numbers work!   In my view, it's better to go into circumstances knowing the challenges you face than underestimate them.

You're words and continued focus on penis size after all those years tell everything. You are still caught up in societies lies that penis size matters. Unfortunately, a lot of the people you will meet have fallen for the same lies and have been conditioned about what sex is all about. It isn't about (unless both partners are looking to procreate), penis in vagina but about 'Sexual Pleasure'. Sexual pleasure requires an equal portion of mental and physical sexual stimulation and incorporates the entire body with a focus on the "Pleasure" (the journey) rather than trying to reach a destination (orgasm). People shouldn't strive for orgasm but arrive at it without trying for it. The problem with PIV sex is that it requires mostly physical stimulation and there too many factors that can interfere with that because there are so many variables in the human anatomy if the stimulus is primarily physical. For my partners and myself (my partners were carefully selected and sex never happened until (and if) we developed romantic feelings for one another) PIV was just icing on the cake after an extended period of full body stimulation and sexual pleasure. It was the 'climax'. The combining of our bodies into one and the bonding. It was a celebration of our love for one another and the sexual pleasure we had just experienced. It was the emotions and feelings for one another that was the stimulus where little or no physical stimulation was necessary. That is the reason I never had interest in 'casual sex'. Casual sex was like stuffing a hamburger down my throat to satisfy my hunger.

To achieve sexual pleasure the penis should be just one tool in the toolbox and used appropriately depending on its characteristics to create pleasure. It shouldn't be the only tool as most people make it out to be. You'd be amazed at how much sexual pleasure can be generated just by using a finger.

Welcome back. This site, like all things in life, can be a mixed bag, and you tend to get out of it what you want or need. Don't be a stranger, and contribute what you can, we all benefit from our collected life experiences.

P.S. If you can, please fill out more of your profile, it helps members get to know you a little better.

I've updated my profile a bit - it was a relic of my youth to be sure!

Hi, NtN!

Size has not been a major focus of mine for the many years.   Size is the mission of this site, which is why my post highlighted that element;  I hadn't been here in a long while, and the thoughts of size would've reminded me to return if they were strong and frequent.

You are underscoring my points by mentioning the people "conditioned" to think a certain way are numerous.

I can't speak much to your intersections with PIV sex as I'm pretty gay.   Might be willing to try it out some day though!

Have a great afternoon.

I only visit the site when truly miserable. Too happy clappy, we're all normal, nothing to worry about. I just keep coming back to "The Emperor's New Clothe's" You can convince yourself that  having a deformed tiny penis is nothing to worry about. It all comes crashing down when you show your penis to a woman. It all goes out the window when so called friends find out. You will always be the loser in life.

My life experience was miserable. Can't wait for the day when I can solve the problem permanetly.

After all these years of your posts, did you ever think of just taking hold of your dick and playing with it till you get off, instead of wallowing in self-pity ...focusing on some self pleasure.?  ....   If you have to, do it right in front of your mother.. so she can see that you're alive and not a lifeless ghostly servant.

Then search until you find a therapist who admits to you that he has a dick no more than 2 in long.   Perhaps that is the type therapist you need to be talking with.

With your attitude, no woman any age no matter what size your dick is would want anything to do with you anyway.   Buckup, and admit your man... Start living what life you have left.

Your only a loser in life if that is your choice.
Too happy clapy?  is that a way of saying not wallowing in their own misery.
18 years no real effort to change.

Everyone who knows you have a small penis thinks your a loser, because as a man with a small penis your are a loser.

No amount of changing how YOU feel about your penis, will change what others thinks about your penis.

You can choose to ignore negative comments etc but you are only deluding yourself. The emperor.

If having a small penis was desirable there would be dating sites for tiny men.

You most likely are what you suspect you are but it is not because of the size of your penis.

So get off your butt and do something about the things you can change.

Your post made me very sad, because I recognized myself. I spent half my life being you. If the stats you posted are accurate, there is nothing wrong with the size of your penis, it falls solidly in the average range .. it is not small. You and I are almost the same size, and I can tell you that the woman I've been with have had no issues with my size. In fact, one said I was the best lover she ever was with, and I know she wasn't lying. You said you have been with 80 - 90 women, I could count on 2 hands the number of women I've been with, with a couple of fingers to spare.

Back in 1995, I was so miserable that I came within seconds of putting a gun to my head. Instead, I saw a doctor and got on meds, and I got into therapy. What I learned is that problem wasn't between my legs, it was between my ears.

Please see a doctor, tell them your depressed, many places offer free or low-cost mental health services. Call your local health dept. and ask them what mental health services they offer. I know men can be reluctant to seek help; I was for a long time.

Life is still a struggle, but I've had a lot of great times. I had the best sex of my life in my fifties. On my 60th birthday my girlfriend surprised me with a 7-day vacation to New Orleans. I would have missed all of that if I had made a bad decision back in 95.

Please get help ..

@JasonBeam....

...  My wholeheartedly agree that this man needs help deep deep searching help.  ..  problem is he refuses the help, and enjoy being in a life of misery and wallowing in ashes.   ...  As he states, he only comes here when he's ultra miserable to help aid in his own suffering.   ...  You can't help those who want to be in misery.   From all of his postings from the beginning of time, he enjoys his misery and wants everyone to know it.

I get it, I recognize the pattern. I went through it for years.

I'm not a phycologist, but I've spent enough time in therapy to understand the behavior. My guess is that most of these posts are made when he's intoxicated. When you're depressed, you get a couple of drinks in you and the depressed thoughts start to take over your mind, you have a need to tell the world how terrible you feel .. posting on the internet is the modern equivalent of drunk dialing.

I had some momentary bouts of similar thoughts, but not as prolonged or as deep.   Even if the stance were true, there is more to life than just size.

Over the past handful of years, I've grown more tolerant of my own size to the point where my circumcised status is the bigger issue for me now.   I believe my time on Measurection has also helped to give me some tools to cope with that as well.

I'm beginning to think he's just a troll. If not, then it still doesn't matter. You can't change the size of your dick, but you can change your attitude about it. Being miserable is a choice.

I haven't read through all your posts, but what exactly is the issue with your circumcised status, if you don't mind me asking

It's worse than that in a way, because a troll is just another name for so someone who delights in repeatedly disagreeing with people, and so stirring things up. These guys don't just shit stir, they've actually come to believe their own bullshit. Every penis themed site or forum has them.

Like Dian (and others here), said it's  a kind of masochist Wallowing.

You feel sorry for them at first, but ultimately that just drains you and it's a waste of time, as they won't  change. When you've experienced had real pain in your life,-e.g. I recently lost my life partner in horrible circumstances-your patience with them rapidly runs out...

Sure!

After some experience with guys who weren't circumcised, I found they got a lot of pleasure from the foreskin and the concealed tip.   Realizing mine has been desensitized due to the foreskin being missing along with missing the nerves in the skin itself makes be angry I wasn't given the autonomy over that permanent modification to my body.

I can never experience what it was like to have one now, and I should have been able to.   Feels like I was robbed - by my own parents, no less.

Sorry for your loss, @The Jester
